Far too many people are identified as being on the autism spectrum and are dismissed or seen as inferior. That is a sad thing.
One in Thirty six world wide.
A number I was not aware of until I began researching information for this book.
My own family and many of my friends have children who are to one degree or another affected by autism. It was a eye opening experience when I realized that I had not previously identified how prevalent autism is among my friends and the worlds population.
Each one of us has a gift. Mine is writing about things I am passionate about. Yours is something else.
When you look, really look at someone with autism you will find a way to appreciate them as a person and perhaps be astonished at the things they can do.
Things that you cannot.
Spectrum is the story of one man who astonished the world with his gift. Not all stories of people with autism are like it. Some struggle more than others which is why I named the book Spectrum.
I hope this story encourages you to reach out to help someone, become an advocate to make a difference and enjoy what someone on the autism spectrum has to offer.
